Tuesday, December 28, 2010
Just a random thought about this movie.....The shawshank redemption. I have seen this movie atleast 100 times. And everyday atleast half part I try to watch, whenever i get time. The throat sighs!

I have no idea how I have become addicted that much to this movie. I have seen lot of other movies of Tim robbins and also Morgan Freeman. But this is an extraordinary!!!!
The way tim has played the role of andy Dufrene...whenever I use to imagine of this particular character...I cant even think anyone else rather than Tim robbins. This is an awesome movie and I like it becuse of the message delivered by it.

Toondoo...Fun in cartooning

Wednesday, February 10, 2010
While coming to office...today I took another route from bus stand. And just noticed Indian Institute of Cartoonist on that way. Something suddenly came in my mind...so thought of pen down it.
TOONDOO..like the name, the site is also full of fun. 2 years back my frnd discovered this site and gave me the news. I remember we had created some 15 to 20 cartoons and used to get lot of comments too. Its amazing. The drag-drop functionality lets even the non-artists to create and publish cartoons. We can say...it's a social networking site for all the cartoonists all over the world. Its really a cool tool. But after joining in job I got completely detached from this. Today checked the site after a long time. And saw a lot of update. Recommending this site http://www.toondoo.com/ for cartoon lovers like me.

Frida's Paintings

Tuesday, February 9, 2010

I dont think this lady needs any introduction. Yes..She is the famous mexican artist Frida Kahlo. I am not here to discuss about the pain of her life or about her controvertial character. Just wanted to share my thoughts about some of her painting. The presence of surrealism in her paintings attracts me the most. And the folkloric style too..I think the way she has portrayed the pain, the sorrow, the part of her life in the painting "The Two Fridas(1939)" doesn't need any more clarification. The simplicity of the communication fascinated me the most. Someone can frame her own reality in this way..truely mesmerized me. Though this work of art is my favourite...but the list contains some more too.. Memory (1937), Roots(1943), Self Portrait with Necklace of Thorns (1940) etc. I think "Memory" is another amazing piece of work.

The best words by Frida -
"I paint myself because... I am the person I know best."
"Feet, what do I need you for when I have wings to fly?"

Holy Trinity Church, Bangalore(India)

Monday, February 8, 2010
On my way back to home from office...everyday I get chance to see this church..Holy Trinity church.
I dont know why, but when I visited this church first day, I remembered about my school church. I have passed out 8 years back from school. I dont know why when I entered in this church, I sat on the chair, I got a feeling like my class group is sitting with me. I was praying...and continuosly feeling the similarity of the ambience of these two places. The calm, quiet atmosphere...the big white pillars...Mother Mary with Baby Jesus's Idol...the large candles...stoup attached to the wall..I was completely overwhelmed when I came out from there..
Comparing the outer structure, both places have their own beauty. But I think the similarity I found, for the inner beauty. I think I was missing my school days..

A tale of friedship...

"Cyber friendship"...now a days this is a very powerfull word for the young generations. It is the union of people for friendship online. A frnd with whom you will be talking for long long time...but he/she is unseen to u...this sense will create a gr8 mystery. Its a fun and sometimes you can get your best friend who will understand you, inspire u unconditionally.
Some days back I got a chance to see my favourite actor Tom Hank's movie named "YOU'VE GOT MAIL". Mark my words... the clarity, the sophistication, the background music, the plot just made it nice. While watching, I was just walking down memory lane, where I was lost in my past days... My online frnd...the excitement of chatting...playing online games for long time...sharing photos...voice chat...fight on a topic..getting proffessional suggestion...becoming good frnds...

May be this movie has got bad rating in IMDB, but when a person like me will find a partial reflection of his/her part of life in any movie...it will make him/her more attracted towards it. Here I am giving the film's poster.

What companies expect from a 2+ years experienced Java programmer?

Yes...This is the only question comes in my mind...when I return back from the interviews...either for my technical experience doesn't meet their expectation or their offered package does not meet my expectation.
I joined in my current company as a fresher two years back. Till now, working under the guidence of module lead or project lead. So, like most of the other companies, I was never given that much freedom to take my own decisions while writing a code. We as a software engineer, do not have that much business knowledge behind the project. We are simply managed by our leads to maintain or writing codes. We were just informed about the client requirements after the leads used to have meetings with them. But what was the scenario, why the changes has to be done..we were never encouraged to know that.
Now whenever I appear for interviews, everywhere I am asked such technical question which I have never encountered while writing codes. And the most terrific question they ask - whether I can handle the code independently or not. If this will be their expectation then their offered packege and designation should also satisfy a candidate. But nowhere I can feel my satisfaction. Still everyday I hope to get a good oppertunity where I can use my technical knowledge, learn...and able to reach my career goals.

Sweet Memories...

"Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high,
There's a land that I heard of
Once in a lullaby.
Somewhere over the rainbow
Skies are blue,
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true."

A place where you love to be isolated.. A place which will come in your dreams again and again...reminding memories. It's a wonderland. I think this is the best place in kolkata...Princep Ghat. It is one of the restored heritage buildings in Kolkata made on the bank of the revier Ganga. It was built in the everlasting memory of James Princep who served as the honorable Secretary of the hallowed Asiatic Society.
I have left my hometown Kolkata more than two years back. But still the memories are fresh..so lively. I remember the afternoons and the evenings spent in this wonderland. A calm, quiet place..pigeon's coo...a remberable walk...the view of ganga..I dont think I have loved any other place like this..The most beautifull thing about this place is...the angular view of second hoogly bridge....
I think a place becomes more and more rememberable in presence of our near ones. When we miss it, we miss the both..
Here I am giving one photograph of this place..
